Sailing Reports

With our first session being cancelled due to the weather WOW helms and members were keen to get out on the water and start the season. Although the weather as chilly the wind was within the limit and we were able to take out 2 x Hawks and one Access on the water crewed by Chris. It was good to see some of last year’s members back very keen to get out on the water. A slicker routine on the land meant that we were able to get out on the water by 1800 and had a quick sail up and down the Cattewater for Shaun and Dave to check the Hawks out and then it was out into Plymouth Sound.
Although the Sound was very busy with plenty of racing yachts, the wind was excellent giving some great sailing. Chris was bombing along in the Access, probably the fastest I have seen it sailed and it was remarked by some other sailors how well the Access seemed to perform. The Hawks were also performing well due to the winter maintenance and everyone in the craft had a great time.
Thanks to Katie for making sure that we were not mowed down by the racing fleet and supporting the session. There were some great photos taken by Ken and Shaun with the new WOW Camera which will be published on the site. Hopefully the weather will warm up for the coming sessions but the wind will stay the same.
